    In 1973, a hard rock band was formed in Australia. The band called AC/DC was made up of the Young brother, Malcolm and Angus. AC/DC was always considered as heavy metal as well as hard rock pioneers. The Young brothers however classified themselves as a rock ‘n’ roll band.

    The idea of the band’s name came from a sewing machine which Malcolm and Angus saw with their sister one day. They thought that the abbreviation of the AC/DC (alternating

They were not really aware that the term AC/DC is a slang for bisexuality until a taxi driver told them about it one night.     The band’s first members were the Young brothers, Larry Van Kriedt on bass, Colin Burgees on drums, and Dave Evans as the vocalist. Dave Evans was replaced by Bon Scott in 1974 when the Young brothers thought that his image was more of a glam rocker rather than a hardcore rock vocalist.

    In 1976 AC/DC signed an international contract with the Atlantic Records. Most of their tours were in Europe as they became the front act for the concerts of other rock bands including Kiss, Aerosmith, Blue Oyster Cut, and Styx.

    Their first album that was distributed worldwide was called High Voltage. This included their tracks from their previous albums released only in Australia such as T.N.T and High Voltage. Three million copies of the album have been sold worldwide.
