Buy James Blunt Tickets James Blunt was born on February 22, 1974. He was an army brat for his childhood, and entered the British services and served in the Life Guards, which is part of the Household Calvary of the British Army. He also served in the NATOP peacekeeping force that went in to Kosvo, which is a disputed territory in the Balkan Peninsula.
In 2005, Blunt went public as a singer/songwriter, and released his first album entitled Back to Bedlam. The single “You’re -
Beautiful”, brought him to much fame and acclaim in that year as well. James’ music mixes pop, rock, and folk together and creates a pleasant sounding blend that many people worldwide apparently love. Blunt doesn’t just sing, though, he also plays the piano and the guitar. Currently, he is signed to the American label Custard Records, which is owned by Linda Perry. After winning two BRIT awards, two Ivor Novello Awards, and being nominated for five Grammy Awards in 2006, Blunt went on to release his second album entitled All the Lost Souls, the following year.
Blunt has also used some of the money he has received from his musical works to support MSF (Médecins sans Frontières), which is also known as Doctors without Borders. He was introduced to their efforts during his service years, and does the best he can to support this humanitarian aide group by offering meet and greet auctions at many of his concerts. The MSF is widely known for the emergency medical care of victims from battle-torn regions, such as Iraq.
James currently lives on Ibiza, an island off the coast of Spain, although he has spent most of his life living, studying, and working in England. The island is where he found sanctuary to write many of the songs for his second album.
