    The group the Jonas Brothers, consists of three blood-related brothers from New Jersey. Band members, Nick, Joe and Kevin, comprise the group. Starting out, the band, wasn’t actually a band, but started out as a solo act featuring, Nicholas Jonas. Nicholas Jonas was discovered at the young age of six years old while singing at a barbers shop. The following year, he began singing, acting and dancing on Broadway.

    In 2005, all three brothers were signed to a recording contract by Columbia Records.

    The Jonas Brothers’ first album was titled It’s About Time. Its’ songs were collected from a plethora of diverse writers, ranging from Joss Stone to Destiny’s Child. The group also recorded two songs that were previously made popular by the British band, Busted. The album’s lead single was title “Mandy.” The video got good rotation on MTV’s Total Request Live. A few of the group’s songs were also featured on various soundtracks for movies aimed at young children. They include the movie Aquamarine, two Zoey 101 movies and American Dragon Jake Long. However, only 50,000 copies of the CD were pressed. There was not much support from the label to promote the album. As a result, the group thought seriously about looking for a new label. The band was finally dropped by Columbia Records in 2007. They found a new home with Hollywood Records shortly thereafter and also a lot more success. If fact, their next album, titled, Jonas Brothers entered the charts at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 200. And they made videos for 2 of their next singles, “SOS” and “Hold On.” Around this time, the band begin to make the Disney Television show rounds as guest stars on various sitcoms and even brought in the new year on Dick Clark's New Years Rockin Ev, with a couple of their songs. Their renewed visibility may have helped contribute to the commercial success of their album.

    To close out 2007 and begin 2008, the band embarked on a three month tour with Hannah Montana. They were a part of her Best of Both Worlds Tour. They headlined their own Look Me in The Eyes Tour in January of 2008.
