Kenny Chesney Tickets Kenny Chesney was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on March 26, 1968. He later attended and graduated form East Tennessee State, where he played locally and developed a following. It was during this time that he recorded an album, had 1000 copies pressed and sold them at his shows. The success of that trial run, helped to solidify his belief that perhaps he had something special. After he graduated, he headed to Nashville, Tennesse to make his mark on the Country music scene.

Even though those first 1000 albums sold fairly fast while in college, Chesney did not achieve instant success when he moved to Nashville. Instead, all of the publishing companies that he visited, passed on him initially. However, it didn’t take incredibly long, in 1992 he secured a songwriter’s contract with BMI. After bidding his time there for a year or more, he signed with Capricorn Records. After the label closed, Chesney signed with BNA Records, an affiliate of RCA Records, which also bought the rights to the record he recorded with Capricorn. It sold 100,000 albums, but his second album, All I Need to Know, went gold. His next release I Will Stand went platinum and then he followed up that album with the double platinum CD Everywhere We Go in 1999. In 2001, he released a Greatest Hits album which went triple platinum. The very next year, he further solidified his spot as a Country music heavy weight by moving millions of his next hit record, No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems. Two popular songs from that album were “The Good Stuff” and “Young.” Kenny Chesney also draws packed crowds in arenas all over the country when he tours.
People who may not follow country music may still be familiar with Chesney because of his highly publicized, quickie marriage to actress Renee Zelwigger that was eventually annulled in 2005. The next year, 2006, Chesney celebrated 25 million record sales and the prestigious CMA entertainer of the year award.
