His first huge hit was “Solitary Man.” Other notable songs of his were “Cherry Cherry” and “Kentucky Woman.” In 1988 his song “America” was chosen as Michael Dukakis’ presidential campaign theme song.

    In 2005, Neil Diamond released another album. It was titled “12 Songs.” The album did well, and debuted in the top 5 on the Billboard charts. In 2005, he appeared on New Year's Rock N’ Eve with Dick Clark. In 2008, Neil Diamond is set to tour in Europe. The tour is scheduled to begin in June.
