Atlanta Braves Tickets
The Atlanta Braves are a professional baseball team who play out of Atlanta, Georgia. The team was established in 1871. They moved to Atlanta in 1966. Currently, they compete in the Major League Baseball's National League in the East division. The team currently plays their games at Turner Field.
For 14 years, from the early 1990s to the mid 2000's, the Atlanta Braves were one of baseball's most successful franchise. In fact, they won their division 14 times in a row. They -
also went to the World Series a whopping five times in the 1990s, winning the championship one time. In 1990 the team has won a total of 16 division titles and nine pennants. They have won 3 World Series championships overall. One was in 1914, where they were known as the Boston Braves, a second was in 1957 when they were the Milwaukee Braves and then in 1995, when they were the Atlanta Brave. They hold the distinction of being the only a franchise in the league to have been winners of three World Series in three different cities.
The team is currently owned by John Malone and Liberty Media, and they are managed by Bobby Cox. Frank Wren works as the general manager, and John Schuerholz is the president of baseball operations. In the 1990s, the Atlanta Braves pitchers seemed to have continual ownership of the Cy Young Award. In fact, 60% of the awards were given to pitchers for the Atlanta Braves. In 1991, Tom Glavine, won his first Cy Young award, Greg Maddux won it three years from 1993 to 1995. John Smoltz took home the trophy in 1996, and Tom Glavine won a second Cy Young award in 1998.
In 2007 the team was sold from Time Warner to Liberty Media group, which is a company that owns a large part of Time Warner in the form of stock. Liberty Media did not have any plans to have any active ownership or be involved in things pertinent to the baseball team. In fact, the front office was not expecting any changes at all.
