Baltimore Orioles Tickets
The Baltimore Orioles are a professional baseball team, who play in Baltimore, Maryland. The team was founded in 1901 and has played in Baltimore since 1954. The team competes in the American League in the East division.
The Baltimore Orioles were one of the eight original members of the American League. The team however, did not originate in Baltimore. In fact, that they started out as the Milwaukee Brewer, they moved to St. Louis in 1902 -
where they were known as the St. Louis Browns. It wasn't until 50 years later that they moved to Baltimore and became the Baltimore Orioles.
In 1966 Frank Robinson joined team. He had a very successful tenure with the Orioles. He was named the American League's Most Valuable Player. Five years prior, he won that same honor in the National League. Frank Robinson was also awarded the Triple Crown, where he led the league in runs batted in, batting average and home runs. In 1966, the team won the American League, and beat the Los Angeles Dodgers to take home the World Series. From the mid 1960s until the early 1980’s proved to be some of the franchises most glorious years. Some top players from the era included Frank Robinson, Cal Ripken Jr and Boog Powell. These three gentlemen were each named Most valuable Player during this time. This period also produced a number of Cy Young award winners. They included Steve Stone, Mike Cuellular, Mike Flanagan and Jim Palmer. In 1995 Cal Ripken Jr. broke Lou Gehrig's record for the amount of consecutive games played. He would break Gehrigs 2,130 consecutive games streak. In 1998, Ripken Jr., would end his own record at 2,632 games. The decade of the 2000’s has not been good for the Orioles. They have had 10 years of consecutive losing seasons. You do not want to miss out on your chance to see the Baltimore Orioles live so order your tickets now from UltimateTicketHub.com.
