Baltimore Ravens Tickets
The Baltimore Ravens are members of the National Football League and play in the North Division of the American Football Conference(AFC). The team’s tenure has been a relatively short one, as the Ravens were established in 1996. They were originally the Cleveland Browns, but owner Art Modell relocated the franchise to Baltimore. Since the team became the Ravens, they have been winners of one Super Bowl (Super Bowl XXXV) in 2000, where they defeated the New York Giants.
-
The team’s new name was selected by the fans. Telephone surveys, focus groups and contests provided the team with 100 names from which to choose. Management chose 17 names out of those 100. Within Focus groups, 200 members within Baltimore whittled the list down to three. A contest in which more then 30,000 people participated, would finally decide the name.
In 2003, owner Art Modell would sell a big chunk of his Raven’s ownership to businessman, Steve Bisciotti. At the end of the football season, he would sell the rest of his share to Bisciotti.
In 2003, the Ravens would go 10-6 and would win their division. The team would be ousted in the first round by the Tennessee Titans. Ray Lewis had a standout year at linebacker and would be awarded the league’s Defensive Player of the Year. The next two years, 2004 and 2005 the Ravens would miss the playoffs entirely. However, those years would see the emergence of Ed Reed as one the franchise’s rising stars and in 2004, he was named the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year.
In 2006, the team would go 13-3, win the AFC North and received a bye in the first round of the playoffs. In the second round, they faced the Indianapolis Colts where they would end up losing and the Colts would go on the win the Super Bowl. In 2007, the team would have a dissapointing season, finishing 5-11. You do not want to miss out on your chance to see the Baltimore Ravens live so order your tickets now from UltimateTicketHub.com.
