Buffalo Bills Tickets
An original member of the American Football League (AFL), the Buffalo Bills joined the NFL when the two leagues merged in the 1970’s. The Bills currently compete in the AFC (American Football Conference) and are members of its’ Eastern division. The Bills play nearly all of their home games in Buffalo, New York and has recently agreed to play one game each year in Toronto, Ontario.
In 1964 and 1965, the team was a winner of two AFL titles but have yet to win any -
championships since they joined the NFL. The late 1980’s and early 1990’s proved to be very successful for the Buffalo Bills. The acquisition of Bruce Smith, Andre Reed, Kent Hull and Thurman Thomas would provide a nucleus that would lead the team to four AFC East championships. In 1988, the team led by Marv Levy, would finish with a 12-4 record and make it to the Super Bowl. Leading up to the biggest game of the year, the team would face and defeat the Miami Dolphins and the L.A. Raiders. They would eventually lose to the New York Giants. The last play of the game and the bragging rights associated with being the Super Bowl Champs came down to a field goal, with kicker, Scott Norwood’s kick veering to the right of the uprights.
In the year 1991, the Bills had another successful year, finishing the regular season with a 13-3 record. Thurman Thomas was awarded the Offensive Player of the Year. The team again, made it to the Super Bowl, beating Kansas City and Denver along the way. They would lose to the Washington Redskins in the Super Bowl. In 1993, the Bills would play against the Dallas Cowboys in that year’s Super Bowl, but again, were defeated.
2007 proved to be a difficult year for the club. They posted a losing record of 7-9. The team’s coach Levy would retire at the end of the season. However, the Bills were chosen as the only NFL team to compete in annual games outside of the United States.
