Cleveland Indians Tickets
The Cleveland Indians are a professional baseball team, in Major Baseball League. They were founded in 1901 and compete in the American League Central division. Throughout the Cleveland Indians’ history, there have been a lots of ownership changes and threats to pick up the team to move it to other cities.
Between the 1960s, and the mid-1990s, the team struggled to produce wins on the field. In 1989, things started to look up a bit when the -
team brought aboard Sandy Alomar Jr. and Carlos Bereaga. Alomar went on to make the All-Star team, was awarded the rookie of the year and the Gold glove award. Bereaga went on to be selected an All-Star for three years. However, shortly thereafter, in 1993, the team would experience are pretty horrific tragedy when Steve Olin, Tim Crews and Bob Bowie, all pitchers for the team, were in a boat and ran into a pier. Steve Olin and Tim Crews were killed. Bob Bowie was hurt and would end up not playing the next season due to injury and then retired in 1994.
1995 would be a good year on the field for the club. They won 100 games and loss only 44. They secured the divisional title and beat the Boston Red Sox in the division series and then the Seattle Mariners in the following round. They would go on to play in the World Series. This would be their first World Series in a nearly 40 years. They would end up losing to the Atlanta Braves in six games. However, it was a very successful year for the team, especially considering their losing history.
2007 was a pretty good year for the Cleveland Indians. They beat the New York Yankees in the AL division series, and then had the Red Sox down 3-1 in the AL championship series. However, the Red Sox would battle back, and win the last three games and go on to the World Series.
