The Chicago Cubs are a major league baseball team who play in Chicago, Illinois. They are a member of the National League Central Division. The Cubs home stadium is the very well known and long-standing, Wrigley field. The Chicago Cubs are not the only baseball a show in town. The Chicago White Sox are th city’s other baseball team.
The Cubs are managed by Lou Piniella and the team's general manager is Jim Hendry. -
2003 was a good year for the Cubs on the field. They were able to win the division title and went on to the postseason where they faced and defeated the Atlanta Braves. This was the team's first series win in postseason since 1908. The Cubs looked to face the Florida Marlins, their final hurdle to get into the World Series. The team, however, came up short and missed out on the opportunity to play in the World Series. 2004 looked to be another good year for the Cubs. However, the Cubs would falter, looking to secure the wildcard birth heading into postseason, the team dropped seven out of their final 9 games and mostly to teams who had a losing record. To cap off this disappointment, Sammie Sosa left the game early, which upset fans and teammates alike. He later lied about the incident and refuted that he had left early. Either way, it left a bad taste in the mouth of the fans and many of the ballclub members. Sammy Sosa was traded after the season.
In 2007 while not a great year for the Cubs it was certainly pretty good , they won the Central division, and made it to the postseason, where they lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks in the divisional series.
