Miami Dolphins Tickets
The Miami Dolphins have long been one of the National Football League’s most glamorous teams. Based in beautiful Miami, Florida, the team may be most well known for being the only professional football team to go undefeated for an entire season and for being the club quarterbacked by the legendary, Dan Marino.
The Miami Dolphins compete in the American Football Conference (AFC) of the National Football League, in the Eastern Division. -
The team was originally a member of the NFL’s one time professional rival the American Football League (AFL). They were an expansion franchise in the AFL. After the two leagues merged, the Dolphins joined the NFL.
The Dolphins have played in several Super Bowls, one being against the Dallas Cowboys in 1971, where they would lose. The following year, in 1972, they would rebound and go undefeated in both the regular season and the playoffs. Only four other clubs have posted a perfect regular season. The Dolphins would play in and win the Super Bowl again in 1973. This would make the Dolphins the first team in the history of the NFL to compete in three straight Super Bowls. They also hold the distinction of being the second club to win back-go-back Super Bowls.
The Dolphins were coached for much of their tenure by Don Shula. Shula is one of the winningest coaches in the NFL. He led his teams to winning records 24 out of the 26 seasons that he coached. The 1970’s were a decade when some of the games greatest players would play for the Dolphins. In fact, those 10 years would see six future Hall of Famers, play for the Dolphins.
In the 1980’s and 1990’s, Dan Marino would began to tear up the NFL’s passing records. Even though he wasn’t able to cap his story book career with a Super Bowl win, he was able to take the team to the playoffs and even to a Super Bowl.
