    The second most prestigous series in NASCAR is the Nationwide Series. Carl Edwards was 2007’s winner. Races in the Nationwide Series take place in and outside of the United States. The prize money for this series is significantly lower then the Sprint Cup and there are less races. This series was established in 1982 and Anheuser-Busch would originally sponser the series. Nationwide Insurance took over the sponsership of the series in 2007, thuse the name change from the Busch Grand National Series to the Nationwide Series. Race car drivers can compete in both the Sprint and the Nationwide Series, however in some circles this is frowned upon and these racers are known as “Buschwhackers.”

    The Craftsman Truck Series is a racing series that includes modified pickup trucks. Ron Hornaday has been one of the series’ superstars and was the series’ winner in 1996, 1998 and most recently in 2007. The Craftsman Truck Series was originally known as the NASCAR Super Truck Series and has been sponsored by Craftsman since it’s inception in 1994.
