New England Patriots Tickets
The New England Patriots have been been in the media most notably for the episode known as “Spy Gate”. The team was caught filming the New York Jets in 2007. As a result, the Patriots were fined $250,000, lost their first round draft pick and the coach, Bill Belechick, was personally fined $500,000.
The New England Patriots were originally known as the Boston Patriots. The name changed when the team moved from Boston to Foxborough. The team is in the NFL’s American -
Football Conference and competes in the Eastern Division. The Patriots originally competed in the AFL, but joined the NFL, when both leagues decided to merge in 1970.
The Patriots have seemingly dominated the 2000’s. However, they showed some flashes of brilliance when they competed in the Super Bowl in 1986, where they would eventually lose to the Chicago Bears. In 1997, they would play in Super Bowl XXXI, against the Green Bay Packers. Again, they would lose.
The decade of the 2000’s thus far has been all about the New England Patriots. In a period of four years from 2001-2005, the team won 3 out of 4 Super Bowls. In 2007, the team would make a fifth trip to to the Super Bowl, but this time, were on the losing end of a shocking loss to the New York Giants.
In 2007, sportswriters and fans alike watched closely as the Patriots looked to threaten the Miami Dolphins distinction as the only undefeated team in the NFL. They would end up going undefeated in the regular season, with a 16-0 record and looked poised to win every game in the playoffs. There were many discussions on whether or not this team was the best team ever assembled in the NFL. In the end, the Tom Brady and Randy Moss led Patriots couldn’t get passed the Eli Manning led New York Giants.
