Philadelphia Phillies Tickets
The Philadelphia Phillies are a professional baseball team and a member of Major League Baseball. They are in the National League and play in the east division. The Phillies currently play all their games at home at Citizens Bank Park in South Philly. The Phillies are one of the oldest franchises in Major League Baseball. In fact, they are the fifth oldest team, and only trail the St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, Atlanta Braves and the Chicago Cubs as the most senior teams in the league.

The Phillies nickname is simply an abbreviation of the Philadelphians. When the team was first founded, they went by the name the Philiadelphia Quakers. They changed their name to the Philadelphia Blue Jays, which lasted for about two years and then they went on to call themselves the Philadelphia Phillies. The Philadelphia Phillies are winners of one World Series where they beat the Kansas City Royals to take the championship in 1980. However, they have played in four other World Series which they all lost. In 1983 to the Baltimore Orioles, then in 1993 they played and lost to the Toronto Blue Jays. In 1915, they were beaten by the Boston Red Sox and in 1950 the New York Yankees beat them.
In 2007, the Phillies took home National League East division. This is the first time that they have succeeded in doing this since 1990. They secured the division by beating the New York Mets, who were the division’s forerunner throughout the baseball season.
Even though the Philadelphia Phillies have a long history, they have only retired eight player’s numbers. These eight players include Chuck Klein, Richie Ashburn, Grover Cleveland Alexander, Jim Bunning, Jackie Robinson, which the whole MLB has retired, Mike Schmidt, Robin Roberts and Steve Carlton. These players helped to build the franchise. You do not want to miss out on your chance to see the Philadelphia Phillies live so order your tickets now from UltimateTicketHub.com.
