Washington Nationals Tickets
The Washington Nationals are an American, Major League Baseball team that plays in Washington DC. The Nationals are part of Major League Baseball's National League, and they are in the Eastern division. The Nationals were previously, the Montreal Expos, and they were an expansion club that joined the league in 1969. The team was not very successful there. Their best season came in 1994 when the season was shortened due to a strike.

Many people considered the strike the end of the club being based in Québec. After 2001 the league considered getting rid of the Montreal Expos, along with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and Minnesota Twins. However, the Expos moved to Washington in 2005. The other teams in the league supported the Expos move to Washington, and league owners voted 28-1 to move the team there.
The city of Washington is a great baseball town, in fact it was to one of the founding teams in the American League. The Washington Senators played there from 1901 to 1960. The only team to protest the move, was the owner of the Baltimore Orioles and this was because the Orioles were the only major-league baseball team in the Washington/Baltimore area. He did not want to split up his market share. However, he was outvoted and the Montréal Expos became the Washington Nationals. In 2008, the team is planning a move into a new stadium.
The team does have a few players or associated team members that are in the Hall of Fame. They include, Frank Robinson, who managed the club from 2002 and 2006. Robinson, was the first African-American managers in Major League Baseball. Gary Carter is also in the Hall. He was an outfielder. While he played for the Expos, he spent most of his career with the New York Mets. Tony Perez was a first basemen who played from 1977-1979. Dick Williams, a manager with the team from 1977-1981 also made it in.
