accepted, much to everyone's surprise. The movie was such a success that it eventually made it’s way to Broadway.
Legally Blonde was essentially a female empowerment book, film and now Broadway play. In part, it showed that women could be powerful, smart, social and feminine, all at the same time.
Pre-Broadway tryouts took place in San Francisco, California in the beginning of 2007. Broadway previews were in April of that year. Reviews for the previews were positive for the most part. After the show hit Broadway, it quickly grossed $1 million, and was nominated for seven Tony awards. The production did not take any of the prized statues home.
The music for Legally Blonde, was written by Nell Benjamin and Laurence O. Keefe. The book was written by Heather Hatch, lyrics were done by Laurence O. Keefe, and Nell Benjamin .
Legally Blonde is now set to hit various cities in the United States, including Rhode Island, Washington DC, Rochester, St. Louis, Baltimore, Charlotte, Houston, West Palm Beach, Orlando, Dallas, Kansas City, Atlanta, Dayton and Costa Mesa.
